Our mission is to help bridge the literacy achievement challenges that disproportionately impact low income, minority individuals and communities. African Americans especially, benefit from the free literacy services we provide to the public. We are actively seeking volunteers who would be willing to serve on our nonprofits, Board of Directors Teaching Committee. We need additional board members to serve on the Teaching Committee, so that they can assist teaching in our live virtual classroom. All Board positions can be performed remotely.
Currently we are seeking additional EDITORS, TECHNICAL WRITERS AND TEACHERS. Please visit our website dfoww.org for more information.
All interested candidates will be required to complete an application and go through an interview process. If appointed to the Board of Directors, all members will be required to commit to a minimum of 8 hour per week in fiduciary duties on the committees they serve on. Because we are a charity organization we rely on the donations from the community and members of the board to help us further our charity mission.
