A Free Bird is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization that is fully remote. Our organization provides children affected by cancer the opportunity to explore their artistic passions. Artistic expression has been proven to play an instrumental role in the healing process. We support them with a range of self-expression through art, music, acting, poetry, writing, singing and other creative mediums. This is an amazing opportunity to have a direct impact on improving the children's lives while also gaining valuable skills that can be utilized in your professional careers. You will gain experience collaborating with various departments and managing a team.


The Digital Strategist Manager supports A Free Bird by educating and directing the marketing/social media programs volunteers and working as a team to community relations and marketing. will create corporate brand awareness, work closely with the PR department to coordinate events, media coverage, also relies on limited experience and sound judgement to plan, execute and accomplish objectives. This is a six-month commitment. You will be in direct communication with the Human Resources team and the president on a weekly basis. You will oversee and manage all social media marketing through digital content strategies, project management, brand awareness, and building relationships with key external stakeholders.


Responsibilities

• Develop, write, and edit innovative and creative media content across all social media platforms

• Collaborate with team members to ensure a cohesive social media identity

• Create and maintain relevant social media accounts

• Ability to supervise and delegate tasks to volunteers

• Setup tasks and activity for all social media outlets

• Keep track of social media trends and competition

• Research and identify relevant content to share with followers

• Identify creative ways to engage both new and existing followers

• Submit quarterly reports

• Hold mandatory weekly meetings with Department Director and team


Qualifications

• Experience: 2+ years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, or a related field

• Previous experience overseeing social media, volunteer programs or demonstrated employment history in a related position

• Knowledge of online marketing and good understanding of major marketing channels

• Competent in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive applications

• Demonstrated knowledge of fund development methodology

• Ability to supervise and delegate tasks to volunteers

• Ability to deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner

• Ability to effectively operate office equipment

• Positive, energetic, and proactive multi-tasker who can work independently or collaboratively

• Strong listener, with a high degree of professionalism and flexibility, including the ability to prioritize and effectively manage assignments in a timely fashion

Our volunteers are highly valued members of the A Free Bird team and contribute to making a

significant difference in the successful execution of A Free Birds vision and mission, our advocacy, awareness, and education initiatives, and helping promote social change to support children’s artistic expression. A Free Bird will provide reference letters for all volunteers who successfully complete their volunteer placement.


Additional Information

This position requires a six-month commitment and at least 5 - 10 hours per week with the flexibility to plan your won schedule.

*Mandatory commitment is based on position level.

Due to COVID-19, we are 100% remote. Proper at home working capabilities include laptop, phone, and connection to reliable internet connectivity. Must be available to have a phone / video conversation at least twice per week.
