Recruiting Organization: Bridgeway (Affinity) Hospice

BridgeWay Hospice needs volunteers! Interested individuals should have the ability to communicate well with people from diverse backgrounds and should be comfortable with learning about and talking about end-of-life.

Volunteers have the opportunity to help in many areas, including:

Direct Patient Contact - Provide companionship to patients in their home. Activities may include talking with patients and families and listening to the stories of their lives, playing cards, reading to patients or just sitting together to watch television. Having a supportive presence is incredibly valuable to our patients and their families.

Families and Caregivers Support - Activities may include providing a break to the caregiver, running errands, making meals, or light housekeeping.

Community Outreach - Represent the agency in the community

Clerical Support - Support the office operations of the agency

Special Skills/Therapies - Massage, art, music, pet, or other therapies.

Bereavement Program - Provide support during the grieving process and assistance at annual memorial services.
