Recruiting Organization: One Community

Do you enjoy talking with older adults? Lead a weekly one-hour discussion group for Chinese seniors. Be a welcoming host who gives neighborhood elders a place to socialize during the pandemic. Any and all ideas for topics of discussion are welcomed.

The Sharing Network began in response to the worsening of social isolation brought on by the pandemic, and now offer daily activities that any senior in Fort Greene, Brooklyn can join by phone. Groups are limited at about 8 people so participants can develop relationships with one another.

Moderators age 50 and over are preferred but not required. Moderators must speak Cantonese.

Moderators attend a 1 hour training via Zoom during the week of September 3rd, and then host their group one hour a week for six weeks beginning the week of September 13th.
