Noonkopir Afya Foundation seeks the enlist interns in the field of Community Health to meet the unique needs of the Kajiado community in which it serves. The ideal candidate should have the requisite education in Medical training or Community Resource Management. The Foundation/ Mawepi Medical seeks to offers hands-on training, lived experience, and working experience with specified demography.

Roles of Community Health Worker:

· Create connections between vulnerable populations and healthcare providers

· Help patients navigate healthcare and social service systems

· Manage care and care transitions for vulnerable populations

· Address stigma and reduce social isolation among patients

· Determine eligibility and enrol individuals Mawepi health programmes

· Ensure cultural competence among healthcare providers serving vulnerable populations

· Educate healthcare providers and stakeholders about community health needs

· Provide culturally appropriate health education on topics related to chronic disease prevention, physical activity, and nutrition

· Advocate for underserved individuals or communities to receive services and resources to address health needs

· Collect data for purposes of research, analytics, management and policy development

· Provide informal counselling, health screenings, and referrals

· Build community capacity to address health issues

· Address social determinants of health

The specific tasks of the CHW Internship:

· Learn, assist, make recommendations for the Clinic CRM software

· Create and assist in development of outreach programmes

· Participate in outreach and patient enrolment

· Advocate for healthy lifestyles and better nutritional choices

· Education in hygiene and cleanliness

· Participate in provision of Health services where necessary

· Social-emotional support

· Resource Mobilization

· Advocacy and capacity-building

· Recommendation Letter

Cultural Experience

· Experience new culture and way of life in a foreign country

· Tour the coastal town of Mombasa and Masai Mara to experience great tourism sites

· Visit a local children’s home to understand and appreciate challenges of developing countries

· Enjoy the sites and sounds of Nairobi city, from the Giraffe Park and museum to malls
