Recruiting Organization: Small Angels Rescue, Inc.
Do you have a passion for animal welfare? Would you like to bring your unique stills to an organization that’s dedicated to saving lives? Since its inception in October 2003, Small Angels Rescue, Inc. has saved over 4,000 guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, mice, and gerbils from euthanasia, abuse, and abandonment. We are a small, but growing, organization that serves an area of desperate need in the community. Our registered 501(c)3 nonprofit depends entirely on volunteers to function. To help us in our mission, we are seeking an Animal Coordinator / At-Large Board Member to handle the team focused on rescuing and rehoming pet mice.
Animal Coordinators oversee all activities related to the species under their care. The duties for this role include the following:
- Managing the program's Team Leaders (if applicable) and/or foster homes
- Handling animal intakes
- Placing animals into foster homes
- Approving adopters
- Arranging adoptions
- Caring for animals under temporary intake quarantine
- Arranging veterinary care
- Participating in monthly board meetings
Prior experience with pet mouse care is necessary for this position. Training will be provided, and there may be a previously established foster network in place. As an At-Large Board Member, the mouse Animal Coordinator will need to be able to attend bi-monthly in-person meetings in Frederick, MD, and bi-monthly meetings via teleconference.
If you are ready to help make a tangible difference in the lives of little animals, please email your resume to Volunteer@SmallAngelsRescue.org.
We look forward to hearing from you!
