El Festival del Libro/The Festival of Books, 2022, celebrates ten years of advancing & advocating on behalf of bilingual literacy & literature. In 2021, El Festival del Libro/Festival of Books helped the neighborhood’s rebound from COVID-19 by partnering with NYC Health & Hospital Corporation as a referring agent steering people, teachers & health care workers especially, to comply with the City’s mandates & receive their 1st. Our sponsorship package includes a level of support that allows us to buy books from participating authors and distribute them among schools, child-care, youth & senior centers.

La Fortaleza (the Fortress) seeks to enrich its board with vested community stakeholders and neighborhood investors to brand the rich multi-cultural, working-class, history of El Barrio/East Harlem, retain the greater share $484 million in lost revenue, by cultivating and nurturing itself as essential resources and assets collaborating establishing small business, services, art & culture hub.

Prospects for board and event committee members commit to being active & responsible participants in areas of event planning, marketing, and follow-up. Keeping to tight planning meeting schedules and assignments are critical. Being on point during the events is another helpful responsibility.

For board prospects, you have to be able to bring in 1 table sponsor and commit to fulfilling the fiduciary responsibilities of a board of director member. Being bilingual in any language is a plus, but not necessary. We welcome languages & accents.

Board prospects are also signing on toHERspanic Achievement Celebration 2022, a personalized award ceremony coinciding with Mother's Day where the ticket buyer and sponsor, choose who to honor. After a year of service and commitment to the board, you are released of your board obligations, but are welcome to stay on-board.
