Recruiting Organization: Gender IDEAL

About Us: Our vision is a future of work that is IDEAL -- inclusive, diverse, equal in access and leadership -- for all genders, especially women of color, and women of different sexual orientations, gender identities, religions, economic backgrounds and abilities.

Gender IDEAL is designed to help workplaces understand their current performance on gender equity and equality by completing a holistic evaluation of their practices, policies and culture. Leveraging a data-driven approach, workplaces can celebrate the areas in which they outperform peers and address areas of underperformance through a set of actionable recommendations. Over time, organizations can repeat the process with clarity of their goal - the Gender IDEAL goals - prioritizing their gender-focused equity work using a data-informed methodology.

While gender is the core identifier in which this work is rooted, other facets of identity such as race, ethnicity, economic, religious, sexual identity, gender orientation, and ability inform the workplace experience. Gender IDEAL takes an intersectional approach to gender in its platform tools. Learn more at www.gender-ideal.org.

About You: You are a marketing, communications and social media dynamo with a couple of years of professional experience who is interested in supporting an early-stage non-profit initiative in developing its communications strategy. You’re comfortable staying focused in a relatively unstructured, remote-only work environment. You are passionate about equity and equality for all people and have a particular interest in gender and women’s rights. Ideally you bring an intersectional perspective to this work, whether through race, ethnicity, sexual or gender orientation, economic, ableness or other identities.

The Role: Gender IDEAL seeks a motivated, creative, execution-oriented candidate to support the development and refresh of our website and media presence. The ideal candidate is able to devote 5-8 hours each week over the next several months. While this is an unpaid opportunity, we are able to support students earning credit for this work.
