Mission Statement

Our Mission -Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

Description

Since 1912 the Girl Scout organization has linked girls with their communities providing real-life experiences for them to discover their talents and express themselves in positive ways. At Girl Scouts-Dakota Horizons, our mission is to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. This mission is carried out by the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) program.

The Girl Scout program empowers girls to develop leadership skills, contribute to their communities in the Black Hills region, and make decisions that help them focus on goal setting, problem solving, and personal growth. As a result of the program, girls become better citizens and develop a stronger appreciation for what it takes to make the world a better place, chiefly, by giving back to their communities.
