Covenant House Alaska serves youth experiencing homelessness. We are seeking someone who would commit to a full-time, one year service term with AmeriCorps.
The Volunteer Management VISTA will work alongside the Volunteer Manager to support and enhance volunteer recruitment, engagement, and retention. The right candidate will be comfortable working with volunteers and community partners through programs across the agency. This role juggles multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Duties include:
- Design/implement recruitment strategies to increase volunteers from under-represented communities.
- Outreach to businesses that provide employees with hours/pay for volunteerism.
- Capture photos/videos to develop marketing material.
- Propose and launch community recruitment events.
- Facilitate added evening, weekend, virtual, and family volunteer opportunities.
- Maintain the volunteer management system.
- Establish a strategic volunteer communications plan.
- Develop and launch trainings/resources for volunteers.
- Establish standard volunteer metrics to track and improve.
