Cat Adoption Application Screener

We are looking for volunteers to join our adoption application screening team. Application screeners help connect our cats with their forever families by educating adopters, finding out what their best fit is, and matchmaking to find the perfect cat for them. Volunteers are also expected to call personal, vet, and landlord references if needed. Volunteers should have a strong understanding of cat behavior and good communication and interpersonal skills. Flexible time. Commitment of 3-4 hours per week is required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Receive virtual application screener training
• Possess a basic understanding of cat behavior
• Possess the ability to follow direction
• Must be able to work independently with no supervision
• Strong communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to learn airtable platform

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Respond to applicants within 24-48 hours of an application being assigned to you
• Communicate to understand what type of cat the applicant is looking for, suggesting cats that would be a good fit if necessary
• Coordinate with the foster parent to set up a virtual meet and greet
• Call vet, landlord, and personal references
• Educate adopters on best practices with their new pets such as setting up a safe space and providing appropriate food and litter boxes
