Most walks last around 2 hours and may be anywhere from 1-3 miles in length depending on interest. The leader will create their own program, the National Park Service will provide examples of permitted routes used in the past. Montezuma Well has two areas of interest. The picnic and pasture area provide relatively flat dirt and woodchipped paths. The overlook at the well provides an additional area for species and required climbing approximately 85 feet of stairs. The trail to Tavasci marsh is a steep, rubble and sometimes unstable road. Walks may also included walking along the greenway and up the entrance road.
