ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

The campground is located in Kentucky, nine miles west of Stearns off Highway 742. The campground has 45 sites all with water and electric hook-ups, picnic tables, fire-rings, access to restrooms, showers and a dump station. The host site has sewage and 40 amp hook-up.

The Blue Heron mining community is located just a few miles from the Blue Heron Campground and is open year-round. The Blue Heron mines operated from 1937, until December 1962, when operations were no longer profitable. This community is located on the bank of the Big South Fork River.
