W. Kerr Scott Dam and Reservoir is seeking individuals or couples to fill three Campground Host positions for Bandit’s Roost Campground, Fort Hamby Campground, and Warrior Creek Campground for the 2022 recreation season from April 1 to October 31. Bandit’s Roost Campground is open from April 1 to October 31 while both Fort Hamby Campground and Warrior Creek Campground are open from April 15 to October 15. Hosts must provide their own RV/Travel Trailer and reside on a designated campsite inside their assigned campground during the duration of the season. Campsite amenities include water and electric. Dump stations are located in the campgrounds. Internet access is available at the gatehouses. Laundry facilities are located at Volunteer Village.
To provide optimum coverage and host services to guests, hosts are expected to stay on-site as much as possible. The Volunteer Coordinator and Recreation Program Ranger will identify days and hours when availability is critical including Friday afternoons, weekends, and holidays. It is expected that hosts will work approximately 32 hours per week (32 hours for individuals, 32 shared hours for couples). However, it is understandable that hosts may need to leave from time to time to take care of personal business. During gatehouse operating hours, hosts shall inform the Campground Attendants when they are leaving for short periods of absence and when they arrive back. For extended absences, the host will coordinate with the Volunteer Coordinator or Recreation Program Ranger. See duties in DUTIES section.
