The primary duty of the recreation maintenance volunteer is to perform various tasks to conduct maintenance and projects to improve the service level to the public. This position is required to work a minimum of 20 hours a week. The volunteer will be required to provide their own transportation as needed. This position will primarily report to the volunteer coordinator.
Volunteers will mow and landscape park areas and project office. Trim trees and haul brush. Apply herbicide to roads and parking areas. Apply ant bait to campsite, beach and playground areas. Paint shelters, restrooms, and other facilities. Conduct trail mowing and cleaning. Conduct minor maintenance of facilities. Build and install small projects around the lake. Operate and maintain power tools and various types of power equipment. Assist maintenance staff with various maintenance issues. Clean and maintain project office building to include shop and storage areas. Conduct supply inventory counts. Assist visitors in the parks. Distribute supplies to parks. Conduct other various duties as needed.
