Trail Attendant
What we need:Assist guests by providing genuine Ozarks hospitality and legendary service as you help them locate needed facilities and amenities as you engage them in conversation to build excitement for the next adventure that awaits just around the corner!
What you may do:The Trail Attendant Volunteerwill interact, educate, and explain to guests about the trail and ensure guest safety. Volunteers should be able to answer questions for guests and be familiar with the Cave Tour experience, other activities in the area, and have a basic knowledge of Ozarks history.
- Ensure guest safety on the trail in a professional and courteous manner. (For example: climbing on rocks is not allowed)
- Ride cart through trail to check on guests and pick up trash as needed.
This role helps Top of the Rock extend our reach and goal for people of all ages to celebrate and experience the beauty and natural history of the Ozarks.
How this will help you:
Volunteers are able to explore their passions and discover new interests while engaging with guests from around the world. Top of the Rock volunteers also have many first-hand opportunities for unique experiences, retail and ticket benefits, and are celebrated during regular team member events.
Skills & Experience Needed:- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Comfortable and confident speaking with the public
- Capable of dealing with guest complaints and/or emergencies in a calm and efficient manner.
- Must be able to sit / stand for the majority of shift while reaching, bending, and stooping
- Pass cart training as assigned by Department Manager.
- Must be able to work in outside environment with exposure to all types of weather, high/low temperatures, etc
- Volunteers will receive a uniform shirt, but they are encouraged to bring their own sunscreen, bug spray, hats, gloves, etc.
- Weekly shifts preferred; Volunteers must maintain an active status consisting of 6 shifts per quarter (3 consecutive months)
- Volunteers self-schedule using the Better Impact app with daily opportunities to fit your busy lifestyle
- Initial, mandatory, orientation offered once a month; days of the week vary by month
Lost Canyon Cave is home to a natural waterfall, a live bat colony, and the skeletons of both a saber-tooth tiger and a short-faced bear.
