The objective of this online virtual workshop is designed to provide adults with the knowledge that can improve their financial security and protect their families. This workshop focuses on a hot topic that negatively affects our community, finances, security, success for retirees and seniors. Participants will gain knowledge, methods, and tools to protect themselves from financial scams and identity theft.

One presenter will deliver the contents of this 90-minute workshop. The presenter will cover the type of scams and actions to prevent being a victim. The Executive Director will handle the opening, Q&A session, and wrap-up. The presentation is already completed in PowerPoint to reduce the presenter’s prep work. The presenter can use the presentation as is, modify it to their style or use their own version that covers the objective and topics. This workshop should be presented by a finance professional, security professional, law enforcement personnel, or lawyer. Others with experience in teaching this topic will also be considered and appreciated.

Description

The Sherrod Foundation Inc is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity, federal EIN #87-1384975. The Sherrod Foundation Inc has a Silver Seal of Transparency from GuideStar, which lists every 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the US. Anyone can check us out at Sherrod Foundation Inc - GuideStar Profile or by a search for us on the IRS website.

We have two big strategic outcomes from this mission. First, we help kids succeed. Second, we help improve people's health. We have six programs that enable our mission. 1 - Preventing Type 2 Diabetes, 2 - Helping Kids Grow, 3 - Community Education Series, 4 - Managing Money, 5 - Student Art Show, 6 Scholarship Program.

We partner with high schools in communities with needs to improve the success of our kids and the health of the community. As a public charity, we must raise money from the public to fund our mission. We are a 100% non-paid charity. None of our officers, staff or volunteers are paid so all donations go toward implementing our programs for the benefit of the community. We focus on children and their parents in Clayton, Henry and DeKalb County GA.

The old saying "it takes a village to raise a child" is still true today and we need everyone’s help to save our children. We invite you to join us and save lives.
