Gurushala is a programme under the non-profit organization - Pratham Education Foundation. We are now taking free online classes for students from low-income or Govt. schools all over the country. This is where the volunteers come in! To be able to impart knowledge of the best quality, we are looking for volunteers who would like to dedicate some of their time to teach students online.

This is a virtual opportunity, where teachers will be connecting with the students through the Gurushala website.

Before the volunteership starts, the teachers will receive:

1. Technical orientation
2. Teacher Training
3. Access to courses on pedagogies

At the end of the orientation, the volunteers will receive a Certificate of Acknowledgement.

With a database of 75,000+ teachers and students, we are now aiming to facilitate learning of students by taking classes online.

Description

Gurushala is a non-profit organization catering to the academic needs of teachers and students from all over India. Started as a teacher development organization, Gurushala is now moving towards facilitating learning in students as well. We focus of training teachers with the necessary pedagogical tools required to teach students in the 21st century, while also helping students with their syllabus with the help of experts and volunteers. The website has been created keeping the teachers' needs in mind, and provides them with the necessary tools, resources, and knowledge to be able to teach in the most effective manner!

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 19
  • Orientation or Training
  • The volunteers need to commit for at least a month, which will include taking classes 5 times or thrice a week, depending on the need of the students. The duration of the volunteership can be increased subject to approval from the organization
  • It is preferable if the volunteers are fluent in English and Hindi both, as most of the students are more comfortable with Hindi
