Duties will include all duties or a portion of the following:
* Walking and socializing adoptable dogs at the shelter.
* Communicating with staff any concerns about safety or needing redirection about procedures.
* Following all safety guidelines for handling dogs.
* Attending trainings to continue learning dog handling skills.
* Notifying Shelter staff on a regular basis about positive or negative dog behaviors that may need correcting or show dog improvement.
4 Shifts
- morning / 08:00 AM to 09:30 AM
- morning / 09:00 AM to 10:00 AM
- afternoon / 03:00 PM to 04:30 PM
- afternoon / 04:00 PM to 04:45 PM

Description
Marion County Dog Services operates Marion County's dog shelter located in Salem with the mission of serving and protecting dogs and communities throughout Marion County. The staff members are tasked with enforcing Marion County dog licensing and control ordinances; promoting humane treatment of dogs; providing shelter and care for stray dogs until they are reunited with their families or adopted; educating residents on quality dog care; and providing excellent customer service.
