Provide nutritious snacks and tasty treats for the young people participating in after school programming at the Waite House in South Minneapolis. Waite House in is like a second home for many of the young people in the highly diverse Phillips neighborhood. They come to the Waite House for special interest clubs and academic support but also for safety, comfort, and healing.

Many of these young people can't count on a healthy hot meal when they get home. The youth team at Waite House is looking for volunteers to provide snacks and treats for the young people in the program.

Snack ideas from the youth participants:

  • Fresh fruit (green apples, bananas, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, guava)
  • Cereal/granola bars
  • Salty snacks (popcorn, potato chips, Takis)
  • Frozen foods (pizza, empanadas, tamales)
  • Lunchables
  • Mexican/Latinx candy (Duvalin, Pelon Pelo-rico, Paleta Payaso)
  • American candy (Skittles, M&Ms, Kit-Kats, Reese's PB Cups, fruit roll-ups)
