Girls on the Run is a life-changing, character development program for girls in 3rd - 8th grade. Our mission is to educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. In each session, the girls learn ways to be healthy and joyful while developing team building skills and training for a 5k.
We are looking for volunteer coaches for our program locations across San Diego! Volunteer coaches utilize a curriculum to engage teams of girls in fun, interactive lessons twice a week after school for 75 minutes each. You do not need any prior experience - we give our volunteers all the tools and training they need to be a successful GOTR coach. You don’t need to be a runner either, just someone who wants to inspire and motivate girls to lead healthy lives!
Coach Requirements:
- Pass an online background check
- Complete an in-person and online training modules
- Attend lessons once or twice a week for the 8 week program
- HAVE FUN!
We are currently recruiting for our Spring 2022 season, which will start in mid-March and run for 8 weeks. The celebratory end-of-season 5k will be on Sunday, May 15th.
To apply, please visit our website and complete a coach application (https://www.gotrsd.org/coach) or email coach@gotrsd.org for more information. If your application is accepted, you will be required to attend an in-person coach training session which will give you the tools to succeed as a GOTR coach.
