Hey, it's about that time and we need lots of help with prepping our field for and during the new year!
We hope everyone is taking care and staying healthy. We miss our lovely volunteers and visitors at the Farm Discovery Educational Field/Gardens and wanted to put out an invitation to come volunteer!

If you would be interested in coming out to the farm, whether it is just for a couple hours of the day or to be added to a regular schedule, we would love to have you and could use your support. Right now we are looking for individuals to come help out anytime, any day Monday-Wednesday or Friday, but we can chat and customize hours that work best for both of us. We are growing food for our community in need.

Help we are looking for:

  • Field/garden projects (weeding fields, digging beds/paths, adding compost/mulch to fields, general maintenance etc.)
  • Specialized skills? Maybe you have a special skill that can offer something we haven't thought of, reach out to us!
  • Experience with agriculture would be a plus! But if you don't, we can teach ya!

Due to the current circumstances, we will only be able to have minimal engagement with volunteers, enough to explain the task and make sure you have everything you need. So, a lot of the work will be independent unless you want to bring someone from your household along!

We want this experience to be mutually beneficial as well, so please feel free to enjoy the outdoor space while you are here (say hi to our animals, leave-no-trace picnic in between your volunteer work, etc.)

If you are interested, or would like more information, don’t hesitate to email me at education.associate@farmdiscovery.org or call our office at 831-728-2032.

Thank you, community, we love and appreciate you!
