Operation Safe Escape is a 501c3 nonprofit volunteer-run organization dedicated to combating domestic violence by helping people escape their dangerous situations and strengthening partnerships with domestic violence shelters, safe houses, advocacy organizations, and other key groups.
OSE is looking for individuals that help make connections with domestic violence shelters and safe houses in their local area (or other areas depending on experience), and help communicate what no-cost services and assistance we can offer to them.
What we’re looking for:
Experience working with domestic violence organizations, or other advocacy organizations
Professional or proven experience in marketing or formal communication
An ability to work independently or with a peer-based team
A high level of independent judgment and ability to solve complex problems
An ability to convey complex security concepts and requirements to a non-technical audience
A passionate do-gooder. Our organization consists entirely of folks who offer up their time & effort to the betterment of others so we’d like more of the same
What the role looks like:
This role functions largely autonomously, and may coordinate with others performing the same function to coordinate communications and avoid redundancy
The incumbent will use their own discretion to reach out to shelters or safe houses in their local area, or ones with which they have an existing relationship
Contact may be via email, phone, or in person depending on the comfort level and preference of the volunteer
What we offer:
The opportunity to make a difference in the lives of your fellow human beings. To see the direct impact of your work on other people
A turnkey professional network , including professional networking opportunities with a wide array of experts in information security, technology, public safety, community advocacy, policy, & more professions.
Opportunities for career growth & lateral career transitions
Access to a number of free or steeply discounted training opportunities & platforms.
A flexible schedule. We understand occupational & family commitments, as we all do this work pro-bono in addition to our own day jobs & time with family. If you need to take a step back, we are here to support you until such time you are able to continue working with OSE.
The excitement of building something from the ground up. While OSE has been around for quite some time , we’re experiencing a major growth phase
Experience working with domestic violence or social service organization is highly desired.
