Have you got puppy fever? Then Spokane Humane Society has the cure, with no lifelong commitment required! This isn’t adopting a puppy, this is just giving them a few weeks of love and care before they to their forever home.

Spokane Humane Society...

...supplies you with everything you will need while fostering, including food, blankets, toys, etc.

...covers the cost of veterinary care, including vaccinations, microchipping and spay/neuter surgery.

...provides free training online that is self-paced, so you can take your time and complete it on your own schedule.

...supports you throughout the entire process, answering questions and helping you with any issues you may encounter with your foster pets.

We are a private, non-profit serving the public by providing care, shelter, and placement into loving homes for neglected and unwanted animals in the greater Spokane area through pet adoptions.

Spokane Humane Society volunteers are integral to our work, focusing on the general care of the animals, from feeding and grooming to playing and training.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Driver's License Needed
  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 18
  • Orientation or Training
  • The typical amount of time puppies will remain in your care is between 2-4 weeks. Caring for puppies typically takes anywhere from 3-4 hours a day and puppies must be kept in a secure, puppy-proofed area when not being directly monitored.
  • Spokane Humane Society foster parents must live within 60 minutes of the shelter in case of veterinary emergencies requiring you to bring your foster pet to the shelter immediately
