Fundraising Volunteers

Reports to: Fundraising Volunteers will report to the President.

Job Overview: We are looking for five (5) driven Fundraising Volunteers to attract and interact with targeted communities and networks. The goal is to gradually interest potential donors in Jew'els of Spain's mission.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Research prospective donors
  • Identify and contact potential donors
  • Communicate a strong message that appeals to potential donors
  • Conduct fundraising strategies
  • Organize a campaign or event that will lead to soliciting donations
  • Maintain records of donor information for future use
  • Train new volunteers in fundraising procedures and practices
Requirements:
  • Strong online research and communication skills
  • Social networking experience
  • Excellent English written and spoken communication skills are essential
  • Spanish and Portuguese are preferable as well
Time Commitment:
  • This position requires at least 5 to 10 hours a week of donated hours

Mission Statement

Our mission is to preserve the Sephardic Jewish history and culture for future generations through the production, distribution and exhibition of audiovisual pieces, theatrical feature films, TV series, documentaries, videos, etc., portraying Sephardic Jewish history before and after their expulsion from Spain in the 15th century. How they departed and how they preserved their customs, traditions and language for more than 500 years. Also, their contribution to art, diplomacy, literature, medicine, music, trading, etc., to their new home countries.

Description

We are developing a documentary TV series that will portray the world’s history and the most significant events that led to the Sephardic Jewish community's expulsion from Spain in 1492 and their journey to foreign lands searching for a new home. It will start at the end of the 13th century, and it will travel to the present time across 8 countries showing how they departed and how they preserved their customs, traditions and language for more than 500 years. The objective is to create an audiovisual piece that will collect all the information scattered in books by different authors and scholars, archives, stories transmitted by oral tradition and many other sources and broadcast it in every medium available to preserve the history of the Sephardic Jews for future generations.
