It's that time of year again! The Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History will be filled with model train layouts and train enthusiasts for our annual Trains, Trains, Trains! event. This wildly popular family-friendly event draws large crowds every year!
Volunteers are needed to help with greeting guests, running model train layouts, manning the Lego free play area, and possibly other tasks.
The event will last most of the day on January 29th and 30th. Not available all day? Not a problem as there will be a morning and an afternoon shifts, in addition to an all-day shift. The AM shift will be from 8:30AM-1:00PM, the PM shift will be 12:45PM-5:15PM, and All-Day will be from 8:30AM-5:15PM with a lunch break.
Please state what shift you would like when signing up for the event, you will receive more information as the event gets closer

Mission Statement
The mission of The Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History is to collect, preserve, and interpret artifacts relating to the role of locomotives in the history of the South. Civil War railroad history, featuring the Great Locomotive Chase and the Civil War locomotive the General, and the manufacture and operation of locomotives during the post Civil War industrialization of the South, will be highlighted through the presentation of exhibits, educational programs relating to the Civil War, the Glover Steam Locomotive Collection, modern railroads, and railroading in the South.
Description
The Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History is located in Kennesaw, Georgia, 22 miles north of downtown Atlanta. The Southern Museum is part of the Smithsonian Affiliations Program and includes Civil War and railroad exhibitions, an early 20th century locomotive factory, a library/archive, and the Jolley Education Center.
