Briscoe Western Art Museum

Purpose: To serve as a representative of the Briscoe Western Art Museum during the 2022 Night of Artists Art Sale. You will answer general questions, assist guests in the bidding process, monitor and keep time on bidding periods, and assist in the sale of exhibited artwork.

When: Friday, March 25th - Saturday, March 26th, 2022

In addition, volunteers must attend one of the following required training sessions:

  • Saturday, March 19th at 2:30pm
  • Wednesday, March 23rd at 6:00pm

Where: The Jack Guenther Pavilion at the Briscoe Western Art Museum
210 W. Market Street, San Antonio, TX 78205

Parking: Complimentary parking is available for both the training session and Art Sale. Details on parking will be provided in the training sessions.

Attire: Business/Western. Please wear comfortable shoes, as you will be standing for several hours. You will be responsible for keeping time, so it is critical that you wear a watch. All volunteers are required to wear the provided name badge.

Perks: The Briscoe Museum will provide food and beverage before the event. You will be among the first to see the exhibition and you are invited to join the festivities after you are released from your volunteer duties.

    Registration Check-in for Artists, Buyers, Collectors, and Patrons for Night of Artists Opening Weekend. 30 minute break.
  • Fri Mar 25, 2022 - 04:30 PM to 09:00 PM
    Assist with wayfinding questions. Support as Bid Spotters during Live Auction.
  • Sat Mar 26, 2022 - 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM
    Registration Check-in for Artists, Buyers, Collectors, and other Patrons. 30 minute break
  • Sat Mar 26, 2022 - 04:30 PM to 09:00 PM
    Monitor Bid Boxes for all participating Artists. Volunteers will be assigned an artist to assist, monitor, and maintain Luck of the Draw Sale.

Description

The Briscoe Western Art Museum showcases historic and contemporary art and artifacts that highlight the American West. The Museum is housed in San Antonio's 1930's central library building, beautifully restored to its original glory. Vaquero, American Indian, and Cowboy narratives come to life through painting sculpture, photography, and exquisitely crafted artifacts.
