STRIVE4You Project Description -Member Only Website Portal (Word Press)

STRIVE4You is looking for a creative and enthusiastic individual to assist our Website Coordinator with developing a member/subscriber portal for our strive4you.org Word Press website. This project will consist of creating log in and registration pages, a member profile page, and restricting content for specific users as part of this member only portal. This is being developed to give staff, volunteers, board members, and clients access to specific content for them to enhance their experience on our site. This is a sub-project of our STRIVE2LEARN Academy and Onboarding projects as well. Interested individuals do not specifically need experience with the Word Press platform, as it is a simple drag and drop website builder with plenty of online documentation. However, experience with web design or a student in website design is preferred. Applicants should be willing to commit to a 1-2-month project timeline and be able to contribute 5-10 hours per week. We must have highly effective, dependable, committed individuals with a passion to help further the STRIVE4YOU mission through high quality website content that advocates the work of the organization!

responsibilities
  • Create and produce high-quality content using the Word Press platform to design a member only portal.
  • Assist with developing a STRIVE online community using the Buddy Boss software
  • Edit, proofread, and suggest improvements to written content.

Help the Website Coordinator with keeping abreast with contemporary trends in web technolog y

Website Design Team Member qualifications
  • Previous working experience as a Web Editor or working knowledge with Word Press is preferred
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills
  • experience with the Buddy Boss Plug-In for Word Press software is preferred but not required. However, A willingness to research and learn is required!
  • Use of Dropbox or willingness to start a free account for file sharing purposes.
  • Attention to details.

  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills

COMPENSATION

This is an unpaid position; course credit arrangements are gladly negotiated. Volunteers are highly valued members of the STRIVE4You’s team and contribute to making a significant difference in STRIVE4You’s ability to reach the end users. STRIVE4You will provide reference letters for all volunteers who successfully complete a placement.

We also provide consulting, professional development opportunities, and outreach services to professionals in communities across the United States. These services are in the form of webinars, online courses, in-person hands on workshops, and trainings at conferences. All trainings are conducted by experienced qualified professionals eager to empower our communities through inclusive and quality education, to promote lifelong learning for all
