STRIVE4You Project Description -Online Course Development (Word Press)

STRIVE4You is looking for creative and enthusiastic individuals to assist with developing our STRIVE2LEARN Academy, an online course library, to help educate people with disabilities, professionals, and others within the community on topics to create a more inclusive society for all! This team will work closely with our Website Coordinator during this three-month project as you develop and publish course content, quizzes, and helping to setup the online learning environment using the Learn Dash software for the Word Press platform through our strive4you.org website. Team members will take approved educational content and support materials to construct each online course. Interested individuals do not specifically need experience with the Word Press or Learn Dash platforms, as they are a simple drag and drop website builder with plenty of online documentation. However, experience with web design, or a student in website design is preferred. Applicants should be willing to commit to this three-month project timeline and be able to contribute 5-10 hours per week. We must have highly effective, dependable, committed individuals with a passion to help further the STRIVE4YOU mission through high quality website content that advocates the work of the organization!

responsibilities
  • Create, produce, and manage high-quality content for the STRIVE2LEARN Academy using the Word Press and Learn Dash platforms.
  • Assist with visual layout of content
  • Regularly check and track content for accuracy
  • Edit, proofread, and suggest improvements to written content.
  • Develop training material/ webinars for STRIVE staff on facilitating the online courses
  • Keep abreast with contemporary trends in web technolog y

Project Team Member qualifications

  • Previous working experience as a Web Editor or working knowledge with Word Press is preferred
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills
  • experience with software such as InDesign, Photoshop, etc. is preferred
  • Use of Dropbox or willingness to start a free account for file sharing.
  • Attention to details.
  • Creative thinker and analytical person

  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills

COMPENSATION

This is an unpaid position; course credit arrangements are gladly negotiated. Volunteers are highly valued members of the STRIVE4You’s team and contribute to making a significant difference in STRIVE4You’s ability to reach the end users. STRIVE4You will provide reference letters for all volunteers who successfully complete a placement.

We also provide consulting, professional development opportunities, and outreach services to professionals in communities across the United States. These services are in the form of webinars, online courses, in-person hands on workshops, and trainings at conferences. All trainings are conducted by experienced qualified professionals eager to empower our communities through inclusive and quality education, to promote lifelong learning for all
