Youth Assistance Coalition (YAC) is an established non-profit organization seeking volunteers for our Drop-in Center team. Drop-in Center volunteers meet in the evenings once per week at our center in downtown San Diego. The goals of our Drop-in Center volunteers are to engage with youth experiencing homelessness, develop positive relationships, provide education and resources, assist with meal service, maintain center facilities, assist with donations, and any other needs as directed by the executive director.

YAC is rapidly growing and we welcome open-minded, trauma-sensitive, and empathetic individuals to join our cause. We will provide training and a supportive environment to help get you started. Please be advised that a background check will be required due to having direct contact with clients. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions and we will be more than happy to provide assistance or visit our website at https://www.yacsd.org.

About Youth Assistance Coalition San Diego

Location:

2801 B Street #238, SAN DIEGO, CA 92102, US

Mission Statement

To positively impact the lives of youth experiencing homelessness through empowerment, mentorship, and community collaboration in order to provide transformative opportunities.

Description

Youth Assistance Coalition was founded in 2017 by a group of motivated volunteers who saw the pattern of youth homelessness in San Diego and wanted to break it. From the beginning, YAC has focused on a community approach to breaking this pattern, and has built up powerful partnerships with many other organizations in San Diego who are also committed to helping these youth get off the street in a lasting way.

We are a 100% volunteer-run organization, and we rely on the support and kindness of our community to be able to provide much-needed services to San Diego's homeless population.
