What is the Safe Homes for Seniors Program?

Safe Homes for Seniors is a brand-new program that is providing services to keep older adults or individuals with disabilities living safely in their homes all over Clark County.

We provide services to keep older adults or individuals with disabilities living safely in their homes.

• Yard Maintenance
• Safety Improvements
• Home Repairs

What Projects can you work on?

• Yard Clean Ups
• Weatherization & Energy Efficiencies (led lightbulbs, caulking, draft prevention, etc.)
• Home Safety (grab bars, handrails, removing trip hazards, removing moss from stairs, safety lighting etc.)
• Simple installations (blinds, shower head, ceiling fans, smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, etc.

(Please note: We will not be able to do interior projects until Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted.)

Who can Volunteer?

• Must be 18 years old to volunteer unsupervised
• Ages 7-17 years old must be accompanied by an adult
• No one under the age of 18 may volunteer for in-home maintenance
• Must agree to and successfully complete a criminal background check (16 + years old)

How Can you Help?

We are seeking volunteers with "handyperson" type skills and those who can offer maintenance and cleanup services. Please click on the link to sign up for our virtual orientation. Our goal is to build a dedicated pool of volunteers so that we are able to serve as many clients as possible in a given week.
