Can you spare 90 minutes to 2 hours each week to help build a child's future? New research from OSU shows that every session a child reads with you yields an increase in their MAP reading test scores.
Join the crew at our Barnett branch each week, and participate in the adventure of learning. We have two programs needing your support: School Help, working with kids K-12 on their studies and Reading Buddies which helps children build reading skills with the K-3 crowd.
School Help works on study skills and homework projects. Reading Buddies features children read to you for 15 minutes, and your job is to help them when they need it, challenge them when it sounds too easy, and guide them to new books and the fun of reading.
Care to share your great love of learning with a child? Then this is the place to be!
School Help Days: Mondays through Thursdays, 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Reading Buddies Schedule: Tuesday and Wednesday 4:45 to 5:45 p.m.
