You can help deliver food to people in need without leaving your home! Our dispatchers receive a phone call from the verifier on duty with information on clients needing food, then call our scheduled volunteer drivers to make the delivery. If you have a cell phone, you can even do this on the run!
Verifiers screen clients from 9 AM to 3 PM daily and our drivers make deliveries on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Typically, there are two to five deliveries a day and sometimes up to nine on our busiest days. A dispatcher needs to be able to take calls and make calls during those hours.
Dispatchers agree to be on call one day a week for a given month (Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays), then have the next month off - so every other month. There is flexibility to accommodate appointments, vacations, etc., and we are closed on all major holidays.
The New York State Department of Health contact tracers give information about our program to people in isolation and quarantine who need food and live in our service area. Our drivers make contactless deliveries to their homes.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Greece Ecumenical Food Shelf & Clothing Closet is to provide emergency food assistance and clothing at no charge to residents living in Greece and Charlotte.
Description
We are an all-volunteer organization that receives food and clothing through community donations, corporate donations and Foodlink, which we distribute to people in the Greece and Charlotte areas. With more than 120 volunteers, we served 6,000 people in our last fiscal year. We are different from other local food pantries in that we both serve clients who come to our location to receive food and we deliver food to clients who cannot come to us, either due to lack of transportation or physical disability. We also have a program that serves seniors and permanently disabled persons on a monthly basis.
