In the weeks leading up to the opening night of a new show, MET volunteers and staff visit local busiensses to drop off flyers/ rack cards. This is the perfect volunteer opportunity for you if you like to be out and about, enjoy walking, and have an hour or two.
How distrution is done:
- Let us know what area you'd like to cover (for example: specific streets in downtown Frederick, a particular shopping plaza, anywhere in Frederick County or nearby counties, or we can help you choose a space- we have a list!).
- Swing by the MET office to pick up tape, flyers, rack cards, etc. (We will have this ready for you and we can even leave the materials outside of the box office during out of office hours for you to seemlessly pick it up and go. Just be sure to ask us to do this for you ahead of time.)
- Distribute the items when you have an hour or so. Be kind to the people you visit and always ask if you can give them the flyer/ rack card to display. The vast majority of the businesses on our list already know us and are happy to support the arts in this way. Though we have a distribution list, you are welcome to take the flyers to other places and add those places to our list.
- Send a quick email, text, or call the box office to let us know where you've covered and how many materials you have left.
- Return the materials by dropping them off the same way that you picked them up.
Its super easy and a great way to support the arts! We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. We need people to come see shows so that we can support our actors and serve our community like our in school programming for kids of Title I schools. We couldn't do that with our volunteers like you who make sure that our shows are being seen! Could you please help us?
Also, you are welcome to do this with a friend or in spead out in a group!

Description
Professional theatre located in historic downtown Frederick, MD. Our ensemble of 25 actors, directors, writers, musicians, technicians, and designers assist in all areas of MET production and administration. Our facility houses 2 performance spaces: a 100 seat black box theatre and an 70 seat black box that features our Family Theatre and Theatre for Young Audiences programs. In addition, MET features classroom/rehearsal space, a 16 person dressing room, costume shop, scene shop, and box office. Programming includes Mainstage Series, Family Theatre Series, The Comedy Pigs (sketch comedy/improv) and various musical and "MET-X productions and events.
