**NOTE: The hospital has strict COVID-19 restrictions (such as universal masking, social distancing, and a Covid-19 vaccine & booster mandate) in place to keep patients, families, staff, and volunteers safe.**

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago is seeking gaming and tech volunteers to help with a variety of tasks.

Typical gaming and tech activities include distributing games to patients throughout the hospital, providing minor tech support for issues that may arise with equipment, and play games with the patients!

All volunteer will need to undergo the hospital's qualifications process and an additional follow-up interview with the role supervisor prior to placement.

Time commitment: one 2 hour shift a week, for at least 6 months. Shift times fall between 3pm-5pm Tuesday through Friday.

Requirements:

  • Must be friendly and empathetic
  • Must be 18+ years old, not in high school
  • Must have at least one specific day/timeframe you can commit to that doesn't change week to week for the 6-month commitment. Shift times fall between 3pm-5pm Tuesday through Friday.
  • Must feel comfortable working with children/youth of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds
  • If selected, must complete a health clearance (including providing proof of a Covid-19 vaccine) and background check process before starting
  • Must feel comfortable in hospital setting - working with critically or chronically ill children and their families
  • Must be able to stand/walk for most of the 2 hour shift
