ORGANIZATION: Kindful Hospice

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Use your talents to volunteer and give back to your community.

1. Companion volunteers- Be a companion to the terminally ill. Those would that are sick and shut in are usually very lonely and would love to have someone to visit with.

2. Caregiver relief- One of the most needed is giving relief to a caregiver to go to the doctor or to Walmart.
Caregivers are also lonely and could use someone to talk to or maybe even run errands for the caregiver.

3. Office Volunteers- If your talent is doing office work there are many ways you can come in and help. Maybe just a hour a day or a hour a week.

4. Dog Therapy- Maybe you have a dog that is calm and loves people. In the state of Oklahoma you do not have to carry a permit to use a dog for therapy. The dog does have to be approved by Kindful Volunteer Coordinator.

5. Veteran Volunteers- We honor our Veterans by giving them a Veteran coin and a certificate of appreciation and providing Veteran volunteers to visit with.

6. Maybe you have a talent of photography and would like to take photo's of the patient and family and give it as a gift.

7. Maybe you have a talent of crocheting or sewing and would like to make lap blankets or cover-ups for the patient to put on while eating.

8. Writing- You could write a story about the patients life and give it to the family.

9. Beautician- Help the patient's feel better with their hair and makeup.

10. Activities - Your talent might be helping with activities by making care baskets or helping the Liaison with activities in nursing homes or assisted living.

11. Singing or instrument- Sing to the patients or play music to offer comfort and peace.

Volunteering is a great way you can give back to your community and use your compassionate talents.
