About Strawberry Fields Animal Rescue Illinois

Location:

P.O. Box 341, Winthrop Harbor, IL 60096, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide refuge for senior animals and animals needing hospice care. We aim to provide education, assistance and support to the public to help people better understand and care for their companion animals. We do more than just rescue, we DRIVE change.

Description

Senior animals in shelters are most at risk for euthanasia and are often times overlooked. At SFAR we believe all senior animals deserve to live out the rest of their lives in comfort and peace. After two years of hard work and dedication, the board of directors came together and the rescue started to take off. SFAR is 100% foster based. SFAR not only rescues senior animals but also strives to educate the public about animal welfare and animal health. We believe rescue and education go hand in hand. We want to keep as many dogs out of the shelters as possible by educating people about their companion animals and the importance of neutering and spaying. SFAR is also implementing a community assistance program to help underserved communities with pet food, vaccines and low cost medical care. SFAR would not function without the help of volunteers. We are still a young organization and we are still building our organizational capacity. We are working hard to build a volunteer network so that we have the ability to help save more animals. As we grow, we need people like you - who can help illustrate the work that we do each day and can highlight the impact that we have on the animals and the overall community. We need you. We need your brilliance, your drive, your expertise and your passion. It goes without saying that your support in this role would help build the foundation we need to reach new programmatic heights. Excited?!? Well, go ahead and join our revolution already!
