Usher for the San Diego Repertory Theatre

When ushering at the San Diego Rep, you will assist guests and patrons in finding their way around the Lyceum Theatres in Downtown San Diego. You will help to ensure the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of all of their guests. You will also be able to watch a high-quality, professional live performance for free during your shift!

Your volunteer shift at the Rep will help them better serve the San Diego community by making sure all of their guests feel heard, comfortable, and safe while enjoying the show.

Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes

Time Commitment: Shifts take place Tuesday - Sunday, 12:45pm - 10:15pm. Volunteers are expected to serve a minimum of 3 hours and 15 minutes each shift. Upcoming shifts can be viewed here in the "Usher Opportunities" section.

Required Skills/Experience: A friendly and positive attitude! No theatre experience required.

Desired Skills/Experience: A passion for theatre

Training Provided: One 15-30 minute training session at the top of each shift to acclimate to the needs of the theatre and the specific show.

Attire: White top and black pants. No yoga pants or lounge-wear. Comfortable shoes.

Physical Requirements: Standing for up to 45 minutes at a time at some stations. Accommodations can be made for every level of ability.

Safety: Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID test is required to volunteer.
