Purpose: This garden serves as our space to grow fresh foods and learn the skills that come along with gardening. Do you need fresh food? Do you want to reconnect with growing your own food? Do you believe in promoting soil health is human wealth? Then, join our garden experience. We host monthly workshops and grow everything! Garden volunteers are responsible for caring for ASCENDtials urban garden space - planting, weeding, harvesting, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitoring the garden regularly, watering and weeding
- Notifying ASCENDtials staff of any major issues, need for supplies or tools, etc.
- Harvesting produce
- Receiving guests, participate in workshops, and conducting tours
Reports to Program Manager
Time Commitment: 2-5 hours per week
Qualifications: Experience with gardening is considered an asset, but not mandatory. Willingness to learn, teamwork, passion for BIPOC communities, public speaking, and train the trainer experience preferred.
Support: All volunteers receive orientation, including anti-oppression training. Garden volunteers will receive additional training and support in gardening techniques.

Description
ASCENDtials assists those in the BIPOC community in dismantling institutionalized Isms within the U.S. workforce by offering workshops that empower them. Our non-profit organization focuses on building cosmic consciousness through our experiential learning programs, healing sessions, and workshops, and environmental programs so that they can successfully advocate for humanity and the environment.
