ORGANIZATION: ASCENDTIALS

Purpose: Garden volunteers are responsible for caring for Ascendtials’ urban garden space - planting, weeding, harvesting, etc.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring the garden regularly, watering and weeding
  • Closing the garden up for the Winter months
  • Notifying Ascendtials staff of any major issues, need for supplies or tools, etc.
  • Harvesting produce
  • Receiving guests and conducting tours

Reports to Program Manager

Time Commitment: 2-5 hours per week


Qualifications: Experience with gardening is considered an asset, but not mandatory. Willingness to learn, teamwork, passion for BIPOC communities, public speaking, and train the trainer experience preferred.

Support: All volunteers receive orientation including anti-oppression training. Garden volunteers will receive additional training and support in gardening techniques.

ASCENDtials assists those in the BIPOC community in dismantling institutionalized Isms within the U.S. workforce by offering workshops that empower them. Our non-profit organization focuses on building cosmic consciousness through our experiential learning programs, healing sessions, and workshops, and environmental programs so that they can successfully advocate for humanity and the environment.
