Spring has sprung! And the City of Kirkland is ramping up for this summer’s Juanita Friday Market: Fridays, June 4 to September 24. More similarly to non-pandemic years, the 2021 Market will rely on volunteers for its operations. Appropriate COVID safety protocols will be followed: mask-wearing, social distancing, hand sanitizer. Assist onsite staff with set-up, vendor support, customer service and/or tear-down--for a minimum of six and as many as 17 Fridays. Should be comfortable lifting 20 pounds and walking/standing for period of 30 minutes or more. Market volunteering is open to those age 18 and older.
Volunteer shifts are Fridays:
>> Noon-4:30 pm: Set-up/Market Booth
>> 4 - 8 pm: Market Booth/Tear-down
Additionally, there is opportunity for an unpaid internship assisting with food access programs, marketing, vendor relations, event planning and management, and more. The Internship begins in late-April and continues through end of September. Includes onsite (Fridays) plus remote duties. Interns contribute 8-16 hours per week.
