This role is responsible for managing the logistics of medical care for all our cats in collaboration with the Shelter Director, Foster Director, and Shelter Vet.

Duties include:

  • Maintain working knowledge of health of all cats.
  • Use software to track vet care, vaccination due dates, vet notes, vital statistics, etc.
  • Maintain accurate vet records for each cat
  • Make vet appointments
  • Communicate with vet
  • Collaborate with vet to make medical decisions
  • Collaborate with foster and adoption directors to ensure cat receives care and finds a home that can meet its needs
  • Be available to train fosters in administering routine medical care and to answer their questions in a timely fashion
  • Collaborate with the Director of Foster and fosters to schedule transport to and from vet.
  • Review vet bills monthly to ensure accuracy and pay them using the TCC credit card. Provide any documentation the Treasurer needs regarding vet bills.
  • Help foster with putting cats in a carrier and vet transportation, when needed

This is a very important role at The Cat Connection; you would be literally saving cats' lives!
