We're a nonprofit cat rescue based in the Boston area. We just opened our own cat shelter! Please join us at this exciting time in our mission to save the lives of stray and abandoned cats!

The purpose of this position is to manage our foster program. This role is responsible for managing our foster program in collaboration with the Shelter Director and Medical Director.

Duties include:

  • Review foster applications
  • Communicate with and evaluate prospective fosters
  • Coordinate delivery of cat to foster home
  • Inspect prospective foster home
  • Monitor foster cat condition and development
  • Collaborate with Director of Adoptions, Medical Director, and Director of Cat Behavior to schedule visits and transportation
  • Facilitate gathering images and and information in order to create a description for PetFinder
  • Find foster placement for incoming cat
  • Help foster homes resolve issues with a cat
  • Use software to track cat progress and location
  • Help recruit new foster homes
  • Maintain up-to-date list of foster homes and their performance
  • Maintain accurate list of foster volunteers and let Director of Volunteer Relations know when someone leaves

This is a very important role at The Cat Connection; you would be literally saving cats' lives! We anticipate that this role will take 10 hours per week.

To control the local feral (undomesticated) cat population through Trap-Neuter-Return-Maintain (TNRM) programs and to facilitate the adoption of stray and abandoned cats and kittens into responsible permanent homes through our foster care and adoption programs.

Description

We are an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit and we rescue stray and abandoned cats in the greater Waltham, MA area and try to find them loving homes.
