This position is through the AmeriCorps program; whose mission is to come together to tackle our nation's most pressing challenges. At Housing Forward, the AmeriCorps volunteer will be part of our Interim Housing program on a part time basis. This role encompasses working with homeless clients from the point of entering the program through their 90-day transition to stable housing.
Interim Housing Case Aide Duties:
The case aide assists in the management of the Interim Housing Program activities and assists the program’s case management staff. The case aide is responsible for greeting, assisting, and maintaining confidentiality for clients. They are responsible for answering phones and maintaining tracking logs for the Interim Housing reception desk. Case Aides are expected to maintain up-to-date knowledge of all Housing Forward and external programs that apply to clients being served.
Duties:
- Maintain and orient clients to the Interim Housing Program.
- Maintain a current, up-to-date knowledge of Housing Forward and external programs that apply to the client(s) being served.
- Assist clients with benefit applications.
- Become familiar with HMIS system for client information tracking.
AmeriCorps Program Benefits
- Living Allowance: $16,000 annually distributed bi-weekly
- Education Award: Upon successful completion of 900 hours of service, receive an $3,247.50 education award

Teaching experience or Bachelor's degree in social service related field preferred.
