Through Reiki, massage therapy, aromatherapy, music support and hair styling, you can bring a sense of peace and relaxation to people facing life-limiting illnesses. If you are trained or licensed in one of the following complementary therapies and have time to serve your community just one week a month, we'd love to have you a part of our hospice volunteer team.

Reiki Volunteer - Level 1 training completion (minimum requirement)

Massage Therapy Volunteer - California license (required)

Hair Cutting Volunteer - California cosmetology or barber license (required)

Aromatherapy Volunteer - Training provided by The Elizabeth Hospice

Music Therapy Volunteer - Background in discipline (required)

Visual Arts Therapy Volunteer - Background in discipline (required)

Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes

Signing up: Please complete the Volunteer Application to start the onboarding process.

Onboarding Requirements: Attend a volunteer orientation (1 hour) and volunteer training (6 hours), complete a self-study guide and training video (online, self-paced), 2 step TB test, background check, drug screening, and provide proof of driver's license and auto insurance.

Time Commitment: 1 hour/week for 1 year

Required: Current training, licensure, or competency in specific disciplines

Location: Volunteers serve in patient homes throughout San Diego County
