The Community Action Partnership of Lancaster County's 2gether program is looking for a volunteer English tutor to help one of our moms in the program.

We’re looking for someone reliable who would be willing to meet regularly in the evenings (whatever works best for them, be it once a week, once every other week, etc.) with one of our mums in 2gether to tutor her on literacy. Specifically, she needs assistance in reading, writing, spelling/grammar, etc. English is her first language but she wishes to improve on these attributes.

In addition, we think someone older would be ideal, as this mom’s style of communication can be interpreted as crass or succinct and it may be perceived as rude or abrasive by someone impressionable; she doesn’t mean anything by it that’s just her way.

CAP's 2Gether is a program that will provide single mothers the opportunity to gain training, certifications or education towards meeting their career goals while also working to strengthen the relationship between mother and child. Support will be provided for investing in quality child care and education for children and a focus on curriculum with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). What makes this opportunity unique is that we are not focusing on either/or child and parent, but 2Gether is initiating a Two-Generation approach for whole families together.
