The Cat Connection is a nonprofit cat rescue serving the greater Boston area, and we are opening our own cat shelter in Brighton! Join us in our mission to save the lives of stray & abandoned cats and find them loving homes!
The Shelter Care Caretaker will work with the Shelter Supervisor and the Shelter Director to oversee the health and safety of the cats within the shelter. We put high priority on cat care and well-being. Working in a small, busy environment these Caretakers need to have strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to be a team player. This position has to be flexible in the duties and responsibilities to best fit the changing needs of the shelter. Caretakers will be expected to commit to a regularly occurring shift.
- Daily cleaning and sanitation of the shelter according to our protocols
- Daily care and monitoring of all cats in the shelter
- Distributing food and washing dishes
- Scooping litter and cleaning litter boxes
- Signing up for shifts in advance and reporting for duty on time
- Using disinfectants and cleaners
- Sweeping and mopping floors
- Operating laundry machines
