Who We Are....

The CARDBoard Project is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization whose main objective is to bridge the digital gap within the underserved communities of South Dallas. For many, access to technology is greatly limited. This limitation actively hinders education, healthcare, and overall economic growth within underserved communities affected by digital division. CARDBoard Project aims to address this pertinent issue on many levels. Between providing access to essential technology, active community projects aimed to eradicate "digital deserts", working with individuals 1:1 to connect our guests to empowering opportunities and resources, we consistently progress our cause.

Who we’re looking for....

As a Volunteer Coordinator, you will support the Executive Director and other managing staff oversee volunteer activities & tasks. Responsibilities include interviewing, onboarding/hiring volunteers, maintaining accurate volunteer records, manage volunteer recruitment platforms, and create volunteer opportunity descriptions. We are looking for someone who is sincere and passionate about our mission and dedicated to ensuring the experience of our volunteers is one that is rewarding. Great written/verbal communication skills are essential. Willing to develop our volunteer training and recruitment processes & documentation is a plus!

We prefer someone with a flexible schedule to effectively schedule/conduct volunteer interviews via Zoom. Regarding a defined time commitment, outside of scheduled volunteer interviews and a 1-hour weekly meeting with the Executive Director, we aim to work with your current schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule & conduct volunteer interviews
  • Standard CBP volunteer orientation/onboarding
  • Help delegate tasks & oversee volunteer activities
  • Maintain volunteer records/signed documentation
  • Periodic check-ins with volunteers
  • Managing volunteer recruitment platforms & scheduling software
    • Benevity, VolunteerMatch, Calendly, & website
  • Create volunteer opportunity descriptions/posts

Requirements:

  • Ideally someone who has management/HR experience or committed to developing those related skillsets (team management, conducting interviews, scheduling, & etc.)
  • Excellent written/communication skills
  • Warm & welcoming demeanor
  • Able to deliver/receive volunteer feedback in a constructive professional manner
  • Pragmatic & organized
  • Reliable computer & internet access
  • Proficient computer skills, experience with Office 365 applications

Between providing physical access to essential technology, active projects working to eradicate "desert" Wi-Fi zones, working with individuals one on one to connect guests to empowering opportunities and resources, we consistently progress our cause.
