About Needpedia: Needpedia is an open-source wiki for all ideas for all problems, with all subjects, built on Ruby on Rails. We aim to create the ultimate platform for citizens and experts to collaborate, driving innovation and social change.
About the Project: We're on the lookout for an NLP (Natural Language Processing) Expert to join our team in developing an AI-powered user-guide for Needpedia. This guide will assist new users in navigating the site and its growing number of tools, as well as automate tasks, allowing users to focus on achieving more.
Our Stack:
- Language Processing: Various NLP techniques
- Dialog Management Systems: Conversational agents
- Research: Staying updated with the latest advancements in NLP
Responsibilities:
- Implement NLP techniques for text preprocessing, entity recognition, and sentiment analysis.
- Design and develop dialog management systems.
- Collaborate with the team to solve challenging NLP problems.
Qualifications: Please answer the following questions in your reply:
- Explain different NLP techniques you have used for text preprocessing, entity recognition, or sentiment analysis.
- How do you handle out-of-vocabulary words or rare entities in NLP models?
- Have you worked on dialog management systems? Describe your experience in designing and implementing conversational agents.
- How do you stay updated with the latest advancements in NLP research and apply them to your work?

Needpedia's goal is to build the wiki for all possible solutions to any problem, with anything. ​But more than that, our goal is connect people over the best ideas on Earth. So we also built a social media site, both so that people can use the social media site to collaborate on ideas they like in the wiki section, and so that people can use the wiki section to improve and even govern/democractize the social media section.
