ORGANIZATION: A Little Help

  • 6 people are interested

A Little Help is looking for volunteers that are interested in helping an older adult member of A Little Help with simple handyman projects and minor repairs around the home. Maintaining an older adult home increases independence and safety as they age-in-place. An unexpected or ongoing medical issue can sometimes restrict what an older adult is able to do for their home, and that’s where A Little Help volunteer can assist and help our members thrive in their homes and community. Opportunities are wide and varied in the requests and might include: hanging pictures, changing lightbulbs, making simple repairs or replacement of items inside and out of the home, safety improvements, and more.

Volunteering with A Little Help is very flexible and accommodating with whatever else you have going on in your life - simply select opportunities online that match your interests and available time. Be Kind - Feel Great!

Contact A Little Help to begin making a difference in your community. We will have you fill out our Volunteer Application and Background Check online at alittlehelp.org then you can begin to help an older adult household in your area and make our community stronger.

Mission Statement

A Little Help is a nonprofit organization that connects neighbors of all ages to help older adults thrive in their homes and in their communities.

Description

A Little Help connects volunteers with older adults to help them with tasks like yardwork, transportation, and errand running to help them age well in their homes. We serve older adults in Metro Denver/Jefferson County, Fort Collins and Berthoud/Loveland, and in the Western Slope.

A Little Help
is based on the Village Model in which local resources and people of all ages are brought together to benefit both older adult members and the greater community. Sharing talents, resources and building intergenerational relationships allow older adults to age safely and thrive in their homes. Studies have shown that those who live longer, healthier lives have close relationships with their neighbors and continually find new purpose as they age.
