Mission Statement

The Free Tutoring Center offers elite academic consulting, coaching, and subject tutoring services to motivated middle and elementary school students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. By providing individualized academic skills coaching and one-on-one tutoring at no cost to students’ families, the Free Tutoring Center substantively intervenes in the academic and personal trajectories of its students by lessening the salience of raced and classed achievement gaps in their lives.

Description

We offer elite tutoring services to underprivileged students by interviewing and selecting high-quality tutors and matching them to each student. Our curriculum is designed to accelerate learning and help students get ahead in their academics. We offer sessions multiple times per week, all of which are monitored to ensure instructional quality. Our approach makes it possible for students to do better with their academics and excel in their subjects. Over the years, FTC has helped students earn $2.5 million in scholarships.
